About Us
Located in the historic Redbank Village area, Wakefield Stud boasts a rich tapestry of history intertwined with modern thoroughbred breeding. The estate, with roots stretching back to 1828, once housed the early colonial settlement and a hospital established in 1834. The current homestead, standing since 1920, was first owned by William and Minnie Badgery who initiated its thoroughbred legacy. Wakefield Stud has evolved to become a name synonymous with quality, famously breeding the beloved Australian champion, Subzero.
